‘if you do not make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness’ #readthatagain
This quote is resonating so much at the moment…
On Friday I managed to twist my ankle in the morning, missing my step in a garden. It was uncomfortable and I sat and rested it for a couple of hours, then drove home…
In hindsight what I could have done is elevated my foot and iced it the minute I got home…I didn’t…I even went for a walk…by the evening the pain was excruciating and I couldn’t sleep…four hours plus in A&E and codine pain relief I was finally able to sleep…what a mistake to make…🤦♀️
What is it about giving ourselves time to rest and heal? Why don’t we do it until we are forced to?
I have some thoughts
- valuing our health
- valuing ourselves as important
- prioritising our own needs above all else
- the idea that rest time is not productive time
- the need to be constantly doing
It’s a constant lesson for me that I thought I was doing well, clearly this is a reminder still more to do…
What do you think? I’d love to hear what stops you form prioritising your wellness…
